The story of “Crash and Burn” tells of a clash of cultures where the water crisis of Egypt meets the American Dream. Set in Orlando, Florida, a group of Egyptian missionaries find a girl named Sunset who they believe contains the spirit of The Phoenix Bird. The Phoenix is a mythological bird that watched over the rising an falling of the Sun and Nile River. They believe the Phoenix has returned in the body of the girl and is the key to saving the Nile from drying up. However, there are those who wish to use the girl’s power for control and luckily for her an All American Iraqi war veteran named Crash, who has seen how corruption can destroy a civilization and has had enough, rescues her from the clutches of the radical group.
The film is an Allegory about how the best interests of our society can become maliciously turned into corruption and greed and that its up to us as free thinking heart driven people to do what’s right no matter the cost even if it means to Crash and Burn.
Zero Dark had the pleasure of working with Chris over at the Backbooth Rock Venue in Downtown Orlando to design the poster for their upcoming show featuring national act Pop Evil and Local Rock badasses Exit the Ride. The Poster was apart of WJRR’s road to earth day birthday. This Poster is the 4th Poster collaboration with Exit the Ride, the 2nd with WJRR and the first with Backbooth and Pop Evil. Looks like its going to be a extra Evil Show and the poster makes sure you realize what your getting your self into. The show is April 27th Doors open at 8. Tickets are 12 bucks in advance! Just renovated our Zero Dark website with a new blog feature on the front of the site that acts as the central command center between the Cinema, Zero Point, and Apparel Sections.
This is the year Anniversary of when the site went up.. Maverick, Phoenix, and Scorpion traveled down to Miami to the Historical Vizcaya Museum. There we found some ancient architecture that the band was looking for that was absolutely non existant in the city of Oralando that the band was from. These are what we came up with.
The Element of Belief. One of the most elusive forces on the planet. Who ever harnesses the power of belief is like a bull charging full steam ahead impervious to the blows and obstacles that may be its own doom. Many speak of the idea of believability, one who’s conviction convinces others that he is the bull, the one who can lead them across the red sea.
the Bible is full of tales of mortal men who were charged with the ions of belief and their grand stories were so great that they even invoked believability with just the words that inked truth of their past existence even when read far in the future.
How does one wrap themselves in the cloak of believability? Is believability the blow back from believing in one’s own self or is it a Molecular Process of taking two unique forces and combining them into a powerful ionic bond of power?
In the film, The Book of Eli, a man named Eli holds the last Bible to survive the apocalyptic war that scorched the earth. He wraps himself in an undying faith and journeys across the no longer United States heading west. Along the way he finds that there are those who would kill to possess the great book of light. They believe that the power of the words in the Bible can manufacture believability and thus conviction to one cause that can bring civilization back into the hands of the bearer of God’s word.
The film, expertly crafted by the Hughes Brothers, takes its time to explore a great story and speeds up the action at the most poignant times. In the end, the film expresses that Believability isn’t something that is bought or sold or something that goes up in value when forced into decline. Believability is a rare event that occurs when an idea is worth dying for. A man who walks with more than just his blood and guts but a force of unexplained guile. What drives him? Could it be his ultimate conviction, angels pushing his heart to beat a few rates faster, or the raw power of God creating a super human who will not give up, who will not quit, no matter the cost, no matter the persecutions, no matter the stakes in his hands?
I guess believability all comes down to the gravity of an idea and the light forces that arrive to die for it. If you want to be believed, if you want to be blessed, than prepare to die for your idea.

Skorpion mans the table while Maverick gets footage of the band and candid interviews with Tooth’s drummer Rob Cavity. The Year was 2007. Before any inkling that business as usual would ever change, Adam Arnali sensed a shift in Entertainment. The Digital Revolution was already seizing up a majority of media in the world. Were 1’s and 0’s all that art would be worth in the coming days? While on tour in Las Vegas with a group doing a reality show for MTV, Adam Arnali was perched on a balcony overlooking the illustrious Rain night club at the Palms during the preshow to a packed house of decked out clubbers.
Then as the electro music thundered, the lights went out, and the fire pyro-technics began to rain from the roof in an epic spectacle, the only light left was the fire of creativity lowering down on top of everyone and all the style that the clubbers brought with them equated to Zero in the Dark. it was in that moment that a shard of inspiration struck Adam Arnali. What if that fire from the sky was engrained into your style? What if you light never died in the Dark? What if your story, your style was a beacon of creativity when all other lights went out?

Episode #1 of Season 2 of The Zero Dark Chronicles. In this Chronicle Maverick vows to write the 5th draft of his new film “Crash in Burn” during the winter solstice which begins on Dec 21st where the Sun stops moving south in the sky and rests for 3 days until it finally moves north 1 degree on dec. 25th. The film “Crash and Burn” is the second episode of the phoenix project that includes a prologue and a epilogue written on the Phoenix shirt.
